Dear Friend of RSI,

Now is the time of year when we receive many messages in our mailboxes asking for support. This is our letter to you, and we thank you for taking the time to read it. If you have been a past supporter of Residential Services, Inc., thank you so much! We truly appreciate your generosity!

It’s been over 32 months of living and working alongside COVID-19. Recovery from the pandemic has been slow and made more complicated due to the historic labor crisis. As we end this year and look forward to 2023, RSI is progressing in the transition to a post-pandemic sense of normalcy. We now have more employees working at RSI than at any time over the last two years, and we work daily to hire and onboard more caring and dedicated people that will power RSI into the future.

We need your support to help us with our recovery. This year we ask you to join our mission again by supporting RSI and investing in our workforce. One thing we’ve always known is that great people are the life force of RSI. During the workforce challenges, many employees work long and unpredictable hours, often prioritizing the people we support over their personal lives. Over 250 RSI employees make a difference every day in the lives of the people we support by building relationships and providing the essential support for each individual to live a safe, happy, fulfilling life in their home and community. A contribution designated for Employee Appreciation is a way to say “thank you” for the dedicated work of RSI employees. Your donation will aid in caring for employees by helping ensure funding for appreciation gifts, bonuses, and recognition awards. Your donation will also help RSI engage, strengthen, and keep the best people.

We also ask you to look at your resources and heart to consider giving above and beyond the Employee Appreciation fund to two other mission-critical areas. The first opportunity is to support our Security Fund. A donation to RSI’s Security Fund helps to ensure RSI can continue to provide security to the individuals and families we currently serve, even and especially during times of crisis; to stabilize, improve, and develop new services; and to fulfill our long-term commitment of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with excellence and integrity.

The second opportunity is to support RSI’s Capital Needs and Repairs. Factors of the last few years aggravated and slowed our plans for home renovations and updates. Maintenance and repair is wise and, most importantly, will ensure the best possible environment for the people we support and our staff - while simultaneously reinforcing a culture that supports caring for our infrastructure.

On behalf of our Board of Directors and employees, thank you for your generous support, and we wish you and your family a joyous holiday season and a happy, peaceful, and healthy new year!

Scott A. Keller,  Executive Director
