Dear Friend of RSI,

Early in 2020, RSI suddenly faced its greatest crisis… COVID-19.   It is hard to overstate the pandemic’s impact on RSI, the people we support and their families, and our employees.  In the blink of an eye, RSI made dramatic operational changes and significant investments in employees, personal protective equipment, and other supplies and services.  Since the beginning of March our entire RSI community has continually adapted, adjusted, and pivoted to effectively balance ever-changing pandemic and industry requirements and expectations with our commitment to overall wellness, care, partnership, and connections.  During this time, I have witnessed incredible creativity and tenacity to secure much needed resources, and tremendous compassion, collaboration, and commitment to care for one other.

RSI is a local, nonprofit organization that provides essential services and valuable supports to people with developmental disabilities.  As we move into our 47th year and beyond, we ask you to once again join our mission by supporting our Security Fund as you conduct your year-end financial planning.   A donation to RSI’s Security Fund helps to ensure that RSI can continue to provide security to the individuals and families we currently serve, even and especially during times of global crisis; to improve and develop new services; and to fulfill our long-term commitment of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with excellence and integrity.

We also ask you to look at your resources, and your heart, to consider giving above and beyond a Security Fund donation and consider supporting RSI by investing in our workforce.  Over 250 RSI employees make a difference every day in the lives of the people we support by building relationships, providing the essential support for each individual to live a safe, happy, fulfilling life in their home and community, and trying to bring some normalcy and calmness during uncertain times.  RSI needs additional resources to make more substantial investments to nurture and strengthen our employees through appreciation and development.  An additional gift designated for Employee Appreciation is a wonderful way to say “thank you” for the dedicated work of RSI employees, and your gift will aid in caring for employees by helping to ensure funding now and throughout the year for appreciation events, bonuses, gifts, and recognition awards.  A donation designated for Employee Development and Training will help RSI attract, develop, and keep the best people. A well-led, competent, and caring team is necessary for RSI to pull through challenging times such as the ones we are currently facing.

100% of your tax-deductible donation goes to support local services and helps assure that RSI can continue to fulfill our long-term commitment to our culture of care, excellence, and innovation as we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities into the future.  On behalf of our Board of Directors and employees, thank you for your generous support!

Sincerely,

Scott A. Keller, Executive Director
